I have never done yoga. What class should I begin with?

Although all classes are appropriate perhaps a Kripalu Flow, Slow Flow, Restorative or Yin class might be a nice start. If you pop in to a vinyasa or Kundalini class, don't worry... all classes are suitable for students of varying levels of flexibility and mobility... simply let the teacher know it is your first class and s/he will cater to your needs.

What if I don’t have yoga props at home?

Yoga was practiced for thousands of years without fancy clothes, mats or props. You are welcome to use bedroom pillows + blankets (or towels!) for cushioning or comfort. Books are a lovely alternative to blocks. Just don’t let a lack of props keep you from practicing—we have all learned to be nimble these past few years.
 

Do I have to have my camera on during class?

No. Although we love to see your faces as we gather for class, you don’t have to turn your camera on to say “hello” and you can choose to keep it on or off while you practice. We are simply happy you are able to join us. Please do whatever makes you most comfortable.

What does Kripalu Flow mean?

Kripalu Flow classes are taught by 500-hour Kripalu-trained teachers. These classes encourage students to move mindfully at their own pace + the sequences are based on the season—for example, you can expect slower classes in the summer as we try to stay cool. Modifications are also encouraged.
